UNC8732 is a prodrug with the requirement of 10% FBS for its full activity. NC8732 is not active in FBS-low medium such as Opti-MEM.

UNC8732 is a well-validated PROTAC that acts as prodrug. It requires metabolism by amine oxidases (present in FBS) to convert its primary amine into an aldehyde. Therefore, this probe must be used in media containing the required metabolism to be active.
