Rita Moita-Santos
University of Virginia Charlottesville
Rita Santos studied biochemistry at the University of Lisbon, followed by a MSc in drug discovery and safety at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and a PhD in bioinformatics at EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute. During her time at the Chemogenomics Group, her research focused on differential drug response as a function of age. Currently, she is a scientific leader in computational biology at GSK, where she is involved in multiple projects on target identification and validation. Over the last years, assessing and improving the utility of chemical probes has been a recurring requirement, specially to enable chemogenomic screens.
