Oliver Schadt is a director of Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany with more than 20 years of experience in compound optimization. He received his PhD from the University of Frankfurt, Germany in 1998 exploring ligands of the polyamine binding site of the NMDA receptor. During his professional career, Oliver contributed to the identification of modulators for many target classes (e.g. kinases, ion channels, integrins and proteases) from different therapeutic areas like CNS, Osteoarthritis, Oncology, Immunology, and Immuno-Oncology. Since 2016, Chemical Biology and especially MS-based proteomics became one of Oliver’s scientific interests.
