Dalia Barsyte-Lovejoy

Dr Dalia Barsyte-Lovejoy received her undergraduate degree in Biology from University of Vilnius, Lithuania, MSc in Environmental Sciences from Central European University, Hungary and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Manchester, UK. Her postdoctoral training at the University of Manchester and Ontario Cancer Institute, Canada focused on characterising cellular signalling mechanisms and carcinogenesis. Dalia is leading the chemical probes cell biology group at the Structural Genomics Consortium, Toronto. Dalia’s scientific interests include the basic chemical biology of the organism/cell-environment interactions and therapeutic target discovery and validation through small molecule chemical probe compounds and peptides. Her study systems of interest range from microenvironment-based novel in vitro models of disease comprised of complex patient derived cell culture to whole model organisms.
