We’ve added two new features to the Chemical Probes Portal, enabling users to filter and download probe data, as well as search the entire Portal site to find news articles, guidelines and more.

Download chemical probes

Users can now download all the probe data on the Portal through a new download function. The feature gives the option to download data on all probes, all compounds (including historical compounds), or a filtered selection. For example, a user could download data for all recommended (3- or 4-star) probes that target kinases that have been added to the Portal in the last year.

The new feature is located on the Probes page. Users can also download the data for an individual probe directly from the probe page.

Data held by the Chemical Probes Portal include the expert-reviewed star ratings for use in cells or in organisms, the recommended concentration for use, information about the protein target, chemical identifiers (SMILES, InChI Key etc.), and bioactivity data such as the potency in various assays.

Search the site

The Portal has a new site search for users to find relevant news stories, articles, guidelines or other content, beyond the probe pages.

For users who only want to find chemical probes, the probe search is still available from the homepage. The probe search is the quickest way to find relevant probes using a compound name or protein target.
