A new home for the Chemical Probes Portal

The new Chemical Probes Portal makes it easier than ever to get quality information about small molecule inhibitors and other chemical tools and to find expert recommendations on these.

We’re expanding the content, increasing the number and type of protein targets covered as well as the range of compounds. The Portal now has data on more than 600 compounds, including PROTACs, molecular glues and small molecule inhibitors.

Behind the scenes, a brand new system has been put in place to support the database and the enhanced capabilities of the new platform. This makes it quicker and more intuitive to search for compounds and will prepare the way for new features.

The new Portal site also makes it easier and quicker to submit a new potential probe.

The sophisticated underlying database capitalises on links to other resources, including canSAR and Probe Miner from The Institute of Cancer Research, London, to bring integrated knowledge about compounds and proteins into the Portal.

In the new user interface, we are adding many new features. We’ve created a new information centre, to help users understand the data and decision-making behind the Portal. This go-to resource for chemical probes will have guides on how to use probes, how to decide which compounds to use, as well as how to use the website – all in one place.

The Chemical Probes Portal is the only expert-curated database for information about chemical probes and small molecule tools and we want to make sure that it will continue to be an essential resource for biomedical researchers. So we are keen to hear from you.
